Jarritos Joins CONCACAF as Gold Cup 2015 Official Soda

Miami (Tuesday, June 09, 2015) - The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) announced today that Jarritos, a North American brand of carbonated soda sold widely in the U.S. market, and its parent company Novamex, will sponsor the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015 as the tournament’s Official Soda.

With the agreement, Jarritos joins Allstate, Delta Air Lines, Sprint and Telcel as a sponsor of the Gold Cup, along with CONCACAF partner Scotiabank, and becomes the Official Carbonated Soda Drink and Sparkling Water of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015.
 
“We are happy to welcome Jarritos as an official sponsor of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015,” said CONCACAF Acting General Secretary Ted Howard. “Like CONCACAF, Jarritos and the Novamex brands embrace the fusion of cultures that fuels our shared passion for soccer – the same passion which will continue to drive the success of the CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer.”

This is the first time Jarritos, which also backs local and youth soccer initiatives across the country, has sponsored a CONCACAF event. Novamex, a private company based in El Paso, Texas, owns the Jarritos brand and the rights to market its products outside of Mexico; it has been selling Jarritos in the United States for 25 years along with Sidral Mundet, Sangria Señorial and Mineragua.

The 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup kicks off on July 7, with a double header at Toyota Park outside Dallas, Texas. The tournament will be staged in 13 cities across the United States and – for the first time -- Canada. Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Toronto will all host group stage double-headers. Baltimore and New York/New Jersey will host the quarterfinals, and Atlanta the semifinals, while Philadelphia will be home to the third place match, and the final on Sunday, July 26.

The tournament features twelve teams from across the CONCACAF region: Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States.

Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup has established itself as the region's most popular national team tournament, routinely drawing capacity crowds and millions of viewers across the region. The Gold Cup has been played 12 times since the inaugural edition in 1991.
